We have 150 reefers and 450 53dry vans.
We haul meat from IA into WI, IL, IN, OH, KY, and the lower half of MI.
Out of those state we back haul for a local manufacturing company in Waterloo.
This manufacturer hauls their products on specialized racks that we reload onto dry vans and haul back out to the shippers.
We pay 100% of the unloading and lumpers are only used on some meat loads.
We prefer drivers to not do any unloading.
John Deere freight is a lot of drop and hook but if you ever live load or unload, it does not take long.
We have health insurance, aflac and a 401k We run Volvos, Freightliners, Internationals, and Peterbilt.
Our trucks are set between 63 and 65 mph 50% of our trucks have E-LOGS and the other half run paper logs.
We are slowly changing over to elogs About 90% of trucks are APU equipped.
We have a split pay program where we pay 5 cents more per mile on all meat loads.
Local manufacturers product is quick on and quick off loading, no touch, So all meat loads pay.
05 per mile higher.
This is to supplement the driver for the time used in fueling the refer and keeping temperature control accurate during shipping.
We pay whether they are loaded or empty After 90 days, we bring the driver in for a review with the owner/CEO.
He looks to make sure the driver is taking care of the equipment (both interior and exterior).
Making sure deliveries are delivered on time and that they are available for work 5 days per week.
The pay that can go up as high as 38 cents per mile plus.
