Job Description:
The Lead Solutions Architect is responsible for technical decisions within the scope of a project.
The focus of this role will be to lead the design of solutions.
In this role, the Lead Solutions Architect will lead the design process, will ensure that cross functional teams have the necessary design specifications to implement the solution.
In addition, the person in this role will work with Corporate Systems leadership, technical project managers, IT engineers, software developers and software testing staff.
Typical work-related activities include:
Create and oversee the design process, including creation Architecture Description and related specifications necessary for successful delivery of software projects.
Analyze User Requirements, procedures and problems to develop cost effective, efficient solution designs.
Design solutions and drive for compatibility with other ACT software products.
Follow ACT Software Engineering practices.
Actively participate in Software Engineering Process Improvement Initiatives.
Act as a leader for large and complex systems development projects Develop and maintain a broad understanding and knowledge of design frameworks, software development lifecycles, and software industry best practices.
Act as advisor and mentor to other team members assigned to projects.
Develop and maintain an understanding of new and emerging technologies that may have application at ACT.
Develops a broad understanding of ACT processes, software systems, hardware standards so that this information can be used to inform the design process.
Understand business and technology strategies and design technical architectures that realize the strategy.
Reason logically and creatively and use a variety of analytical techniques to resolve problems.
Plan technology migrations.
Develop technology and implementation cost benefit analysis.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Master''s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Information Systems and seven years or more experience in increasingly responsible roles, or the equivalent mix of education and experience.
Applicants will have demonstrated skills in:
analytical problem solving; superior ability to read, write, interpret, and apply written technical material; and setting specific goals and priorities.
Experience building trust, aligning priorities, and nurturing effective working relationships.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Experience with educational assessments; Experience developing solutions for large and complex systems; Experience in establishing software engineering practices; COTS Technical evaluation experience.

Starting salary commensurate with qualifications.
