Groundskeeper
TMC Transportation is one of the largest employee-owned flatbed transportation companies and has an opening for a Groundskeeper at our Des Moines, IA Headquarters.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for maintaining grounds of industrial, commercial and public property.
This is a full time, year round position.
Pre-employment drug screen and physical required.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Mow the lawns.
Trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
Rake and bag or burns leaves.
Clean grounds and remove litter.
Shovel snow from walks and driveways.
Spread salt on public passage ways to prevent ice buildup.
Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
Water lawn and shrubs.
Repair fences, gates, walls, and walks.
Clean out drainage ditches and culverts.
Sharpen tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
Make minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and snow removal equipment.
Maintain and clean swimming pool and Jacuzzis.
Make minor repairs to and maintains building areas.
Assists office departments with moving and storage of documents and equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
