Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial Culinary professional who is constantly seeking a better way to conduct business.
This hands:
on leadership position will assist in the responsibility for the successful operation of the Culinary Department in a retirement community, nursing home, skilled nursing facility, long term care facility or continuous care retirement community.
The Sous Chef will assist in supervising the preparation and cooking of various food items, developing daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment.
You may be responsible for supervising hourly kitchen employees.
You may assist with employee training and scheduling of hourly cooks and hourly staff.
You may assist in monitoring payroll costs and overtime and will support the culinary direction of the Chef and adhere to all brand standards.
May manage the department scheduling, discipline, and/or hiring.
You may work with the Executive Chef or Chef in developing new menus and recipes and may be involved with ordering.
The Sous Chef usually reports directly to the Executive Chef or Chef.

Qualifications:

Degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate and required experience Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training Catering experience a plus High volume, complex foodservice operations experience :
highly desirable Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft O Source:
