in partnership with The Amana Colonies Convention and Visitors Bureau are seeking to hire an Event Planner to execute the community's calendar of events and related tasks.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Recruit and manage volunteers and interns Schedule and conduct committee, taskforce and community wide meetings Manage inventory for all events Book and manage contracts for musicians, vendors, etc Develop marketing materials and social media and website pages for events Apply for and manage all permits for vendors, signage, other Track invoices, receipts, and income for Executive Director Manage POS system for merch and ticket sales Solicit sponsorships and ensure deliverables for sponsors Meet with businesses regularly, collect business assessment payments.
Follow up with biz as needed.
Oversee set up, teardown, and day-of operations for events Develop annual events budgets in coordination with the executive director Continuous updates to work plans for each event Close out each event and document for Board review Duties as assigned by the Board or Executive Director Salary Annual:
$45,000
Benefits:

Hours:
This position is a full-time exempt salary position; a yearly average of 40 hours per week is expected.
Flexible hours are anticipated due to festivals and events.
Partial remote work/hybrid potential.
Schedule:
This is a full time position and is not be limited to 40 hours per week.
Evening and weekend work will be required frequently.
Paid Time Off:
Two weeks per year effective 60 days after start date.
Paid Holidays, Annual:
New Year's Day (January 1), Memorial Day, Fourth of July (or the relevant official US observed holiday date), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day (December 25).
Qualifications A least two years' work experience in a related field and/or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Proficiency in digital communications required.
Must have a positive, assertive, and personable attitude and a willingness to work with the general public on a daily basis.
Attention to detail, organization skills and general computer skills in a Windows environment required.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft 365 products is helpful.
Knowledge of graphic design and web skills and social media expertise is preferred.
Previous work experience at an event venue helpful.
Must have a valid Iowa driver's license and reliable transportation.
Must be functionally literate in written and spoken English.
Must be physically mobile and able to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to operate equipment in various physical and environmental circumstances.
Endurance of noise associated with various indoor and outdoor conditions required.
